(Source: http://content.lionbridge.com ) Sari is a medical student in a university in Indonesia. She reads a lot of books in order to deepen her knowledge about medical education. One day, her professor asked her to read a book about Human Anatomy which is written in English. Unfortunately, Sari is not fluent in English. She needs the same book on Human Anatomy which is written in her native language-Indonesian. Here, translation plays a big role in Sari’s life, and probably in other humans’ lives. Without translation, most people in the world would probably have many difficulties in their lives. Wilss (1982: 3), states that translation is a transfer process which aims at the transformation of a written source language text (SLT) into an optimally equivalent target language text (TLT), and which requires the syntactic, the semantic, and the pragmatic understanding and analytical processing of the source text.
